How to Disarm Mines in Fallout

Stepping on a land mine in the "Fallout" series of games may be fatal to the health of your character. Disarming a land mine not only prevents you from having to incur any damage from the land mine, but it also allows you to safely pick up the land mine and add it to your own inventory so that you can use it against your enemies. The disarm ability is related to the explosive skill, and the higher your level, the easier it will be to disarm mines.

Instructions

  Search the ground for land mines, which look like small metal disks with a blinking light on top when they are armed. The land mine will beep when you have set it off, but at that point it will be too late to disarm it, although you will be able to quickly run away from the blast.

  Crouch next to a land mine and press the "Interact" button. If your explosives skill is higher than the difficulty level of the land mine, you will have the option to disarm it.

  Press the "Interact" button again to pick up the disarmed land mine and add it to your inventory.
