Things You'll Need
Instructions
Remove all cables from the Xbox 360 console and remove the front faceplate. Lift up the outer tabs on the plastic case, then remove it from the system. Unscrew the Torx screws underneath, then slide open the metal cover. Lift the DVD drive up and unplug the SATA cable from the Xbox 360 to the DVD drive. Connect the SATA end of your SATA-USB adapter to the DVD drive, then connect the USB end to your computer.
Turn on your computer, then download an Xbox 360 modification program that includes the iXtreme LT software. Run the program and select your Xbox 360 DVD drive from the main menu. Click "Flash Firmware" and check the box labeled "Use iXtreme LT" to begin modifying your Xbox 360 DVD drive. Click "OK" to confirm your selection, and the program will edit the DVD drive's .BIN firmware via the SATA-USB adapter.
Wait for the flash process to complete, then close the program and turn off the computer. Unplug the USB-SATA cable from your computer and the Xbox 360 DVD drive. Connect the SATA cable from the Xbox 360 to the DVD drive, then place the unit back inside the console. Close the metal lid and replace the Torx screws. Return the outer plastic cover to its original position. Place the front faceplate back on the console and reconnect all power cables/accessories before turning the machine on again.
