How to Do a Kickflip Hippy Hop in Skate 2

As with actual skateboarding stunts, the hippy flip, a variation on the double kickflip hop, is one of the more difficult stunts to perform in "Skate 2." This move entails riding toward a rail, kicking the board up while jumping over the rail so that the board spirals beneath the rail and landing safely on the board. Similar to the actual stunt, timing is the key to performing a hippy flip.

Instructions

    • 1

Go to a level that has a lot of rails in it, like the Boneyard. This move requires a rail that is about knee-height on the skater for ease of execution.

    • 2

Skate around until you find a rail that is about knee-height on your skater. Skate away from it and align yourself so that you are facing it at no greater than a 45-degree angle. The rail should be horizontal across your screen -- you are going over the rail, not sliding along it.

    • 3

Change the camera angle so that you are viewing your skater in profile. Skate toward the rail at full speed. Once you reach the top speed for your skater, hold the "Square" button so that you are crouching.

    • 4

Release the button just before you get to the rail to jump up -- let go about a second before your skater crashes into the rail. The skate will kick the board up and jump over the rail while the board spirals under the rail.
