In 2002, Microsoft unveiled Xbox LIVE, allowing users to access entertainment, connect with friends and download and play games with people all over the world. Users create gamertags, which become their handles on the online community. After signing up for Xbox LIVE, players can change their gamertags once for free. To modify the gamertag again, players will need to use Microsoft Points to make further changes. Xbox LIVE automatically updates your list of friends, so you won't have to alert your buddies of your new gamertag.
