Hard Drive Extraction
Remove the Xbox 360 hard drive case from the console by pressing the button on the back of the console. The hard drive will eject.
Place the hard drive case on the work area with the screws facing up.
Remove the silver Microsoft sticker on the case because it is covering one of the screws needed to remove the outer shell of the hard drive.
Use the T-6 TORX screwdriver to remove the four screws and carefully pry off the top of the case.
The internal hard drive case will have four more screws. Use the T-10 TORX screwdriver to remove these and remove the silver, internal hard drive case.
Remove the hard drive itself from the bottom half of the case by lifting it at an angle and sliding it out.
Data Transfer Methods
Download and install Xplorer360 to the computer.
If using the SATA cable transfer method, fully extract the hard drive as detailed above. Then attach the adapter and the data cable to the hard drive with the USB end connected to the computer.
If using the Microsoft transfer cable method, simply remove the hard drive, in its casing, from the Xbox 360 console. Do not remove the hard drive from its case. Attach the transfer cable from the hard drive to a USB port on the computer.
Use Xplorer360 to extract the files from the hard drive and save them to the computer.
