Things You'll Need
Instructions
Turn off the Xbox 360 console.
Lie the console on the ground horizontally.
Find the hard drive cover release, which is close to the back of the Xbox 360. Slide the release toward the front of your Xbox.
Pull open the hard drive door.
Grab the tab on the side of the hard drive disk and pull it until it comes out.
Insert your new hard drive disk into the slot. Face the new hard drive in the same direction as the old one and push it in until you hear it click into place.
Slide the hard drive cover onto your console.
Turn on the console and select "My Xbox." Choose "System Settings," then select "Memory." Check to see that your newly installed hard drive is listed under "Storage Devices." If it isn't, try turning off the console and removing and replacing the hard drive. If it still isn't listed, you might have a defective hard drive and will have to contact Microsoft.
