How to Upgrade RAM on 360s

The Xbox 360 is a video-game console created by Microsoft. These consoles range from four to 250 gigabytes in Random Accessible Memory (RAM) space. RAM lets you save and access files on your Xbox 360 console. Microsoft sells hard drives specifically designed for the Xbox 360, so upgrading the RAM on your console is pretty easy. Once you have your new hard drive, you'll be able to upgrade the RAM in your Xbox 360 in a few simple steps.

    • 5

Grab the tab on the side of the hard drive disk and pull it until it comes out.

    • 6

Insert your new hard drive disk into the slot. Face the new hard drive in the same direction as the old one and push it in until you hear it click into place.

    • 7

Slide the hard drive cover onto your console.

    • 8

Turn on the console and select "My Xbox." Choose "System Settings," then select "Memory." Check to see that your newly installed hard drive is listed under "Storage Devices." If it isn't, try turning off the console and removing and replacing the hard drive. If it still isn't listed, you might have a defective hard drive and will have to contact Microsoft.
