Things You'll Need
Instructions
Cut open and peel the outer sheath of your Ethernet cable with a wire cutter to expose the wires. The section of exposed wires should be about the length of your light switch.
Find the orange wire and unravel it from the rest of the other colored wires to isolate it. Cut the orange wire in half with scissors.
Unravel both ends of the cut orange wire. Strip the outer sheath of the orange wire to expose the copper wire, either with the wire cutter by scraping it off.
Use your flat-head screwdriver to loosen the two screws on the side of the light switch. They do not have to be removed.
Wrap the ends of the exposed copper wire onto the screws on the light switch, then tighten the screws.
Tuck the exposed colored wiring back into the Ethernet cable's sheath. Use electrical tape to wrap any exposed wires.
