How to Install an Xbox 360 Wireless Adapter with a Cisco Router

Before you can play your Xbox 360 games online, you have to connect to the internet. If you own a Cisco router, you can easily get your Xbox 360 online, as long as you have the Xbox wireless adapter. The adapter is similar to a wireless card and allows the Xbox to connect to your wireless router. After installing the adapter, you can begin earning Xbox achievement points and scheming for collaborative play with friends.

  Connect the adapter to two small slots located above the cable ports on the back of your Xbox 360. Connect the adapter's USB cable to the Xbox. Lift the antenna to the upright position.

  Power on your Xbox 360 and open "My Xbox."

  Open "System Settings" and continue to "Network Settings."

  Select your wireless network.

  Enter your Cisco router's security password, if applicable, and select "Yes" when prompted to update your Xbox system.

  Test the internet connection. If you are given a message that you are not connected to the internet, check that your router is working properly and that other computers in the home are connected to the internet.
