Fighting
Attack your opponents from behind whenever you can. This lowers your enemy's chance of defending itself and raises your chance of scoring a critical hit and causing extra damage.
Special Attacks
The damage caused by your special attacks is supplemented by your character's in-game "Echo Meter." Take advantage of this by making sure your "Echo Meter" is completely full -- Level 32 -- before you use a special attack in battle. This ensures your attack will cause the maximum amount of damage. Your "Echo Meter" automatically refills as you fight enemies.
Selling Photos
A good way to make quick, easy cash in "Eternal Sonata" involves the in-game photo camera. The camera can only be used by Beat, but it's quite effective in raking in fast money. After you've snapped a few pictures of enemies in the field, return to town and sell your prized pictures to a vendor. Photos of the stronger enemies in the game, particularly the boss monsters, are especially valuable.
Eternal Sonata Encore
"Encore Mode," also referred to as "New Game+," is a beefed-up version of the regular adventure. Unlock "Encore Mode" by completing the entire storyline, saving the game and then reloading it. You'll still have all of your items, but you'll find that all of the enemies in the game, including bosses, are now much stronger.
Using Light and Dark
Every character in your party has certain abilities that are only usable in light or dark areas. To use a "Light" attack, stand in an area lit with sunlight. Conversely, enter a shadowy zone to use a "Dark" attack. Certain monsters are also affected by these conditions. They can use special attacks of their own and can even transform into entirely different entities.
