How to Get Multiple Xbox 360s on the Same Network

With Microsoft's Xbox 360 gaming console, users have three distinct options to get multiple units on the same network. The first is to connect each console in a system link with an Ethernet cable. The second is to use a router and create a wired network connection. The third option is to use a regular wireless connection.

Instructions

Establish a system link connection between your multiple Xbox 360s. This creates an Xbox 360 network existing independently of other computer networks in your home. Setup requires an Ethernet cable to connect the Xbox 360s -- the cable goes into the back of each console and the system link will load on your television screen.

Connect each Xbox 360 to your home's wired network. If you have a wired router in your home, all you need to do is connect each Xbox 360 to the router via its own individual Ethernet cable. The cable goes into the back of both the router and console. Each Xbox 360 then will be shown as a device on your wired network.

Use your home wireless network connection. In the "System Settings" menu on the Xbox 360 console is a "Network Settings" application. Select the name of the home wireless connection from the "Network Settings" application on each individual Xbox 360. All Xbox 360 consoles will be added to the same home wireless network, at which point they can communicate with one another.
