How to Make Your Xbox 360 HDMI

HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) is an extremely high resolution that, on capable TVs, displays pictures with authentic colors and clarity. The technology is available for Xbox 360 consoles and comes ready to use out of the package; but you will need an HDMI converter if you bought your Xbox 360 in the first year of its launch. At first, the console did not include an HDMI port on the console itself, even though it still has the capabilities to use the technology.

Instructions

    • 1

Purchase an Xbox 360 HDMI Conversion Kit. The kit can be purchased online, but, because consoles now come with the HDMI port installed, they are difficult to find. Microsoft and Mad Catz have stopped mass production of the devices, but they can still be found at local retailers and on eBay.

    • 2

Purchase a HDMI cable. Microsoft produces an official cable, but any HDMI will work and produce similar results.

    • 3

Attach the HDMI cable to the back of your HDMI-compatible TV. Many flat screen TVs now come with at least one HDMI port.

    • 4

Attach the other end of the HDMI cable to the Xbox 360 HDMI Converter Kit. The end should fit snugly into the device.

    • 5

Attach the Xbox 360 HDMI Converter Kit to the back of your Xbox 360 console. The device will display on your TV's HDMI channel the next time it boots.
