How to Set a Verizon Fios Router for Halo 3

Halo 3 is a video game created by Bungie for the Xbox 360 console. In order to access the Internet to play Halo 3 with other people in multiplayer mode and to keep track of your accomplishment medals, you will need to set up a connection with your Verizon Fios router. Do this by accessing the main menu or "Dashboard" of the Xbox 360. Once you have set the router location on your Xbox 360, you can connect to Xbox live via the Internet connection and join a multiplayer game.

Ethernet cable
Xbox 360 with controller
Halo 3 disc

  Check your Verizon Fios router to ensure that it is plugged into a working electrical outlet and is currently connected to your home's Internet service. Look for the green LED status light on the router. If it is on, the router is currently connected to your Internet connection and working properly.

  Plug one end of the Ethernet cable into the Verizon Fios router by inserting the plug into the Ethernet port and pushing it in until it clicks into place. Plug the other end of the Ethernet cable into the Ethernet cable port on the back of your Xbox 360.

  Turn the Xbox 360 on. Insert the Halo 3 disc. When the main menu "Dashboard" appears on your TV screen, use the controller's analog stick to move the menu tab over to "System Settings." Select "System Settings". Under the "System Settings" menu select "Network settings." Under the "Network settings" menu select "Test Xbox Live Connection." Wait for the Xbox 360 to setup the Internet network connection for Xbox Live. The router will automatically connect to the Xbox 360 with the correct settings.

  Return to the main menu "Dashboard" and select "Halo 3" program icon. The game will start. Press the center "Xbox guide" button on the controller. When the guide menu pops up, select "Sign in Gamer Profile" and select your profile. You can now play Halo 3 with Xbox Live.
