How to Play a New XBox on a 2010 Samsung Monitor

Playing Xbox 360 on a Samsung computer monitor involves the use of a HDMI cable. Both Microsoft's gaming console and Samsung computer monitors support HDMI cables. Once this cable is connected, you play games on your Xbox 360 the exact same way you would on a regular television set located elsewhere in your home.

      Remove the plastic coverings on both ends of your HDMI cable. Connect the HDMI cable to the back of the Xbox 360 and to the HDMI input on your Samsung computer monitor.

      Turn on your Xbox 360 and your monitor. The Xbox 360 main menu will be viewable on the monitor.

      Select "My Xbox" on the console.

      Select "System Settings."

      Choose "Console Settings." From this window, select "Display" and "HDTV Settings." Select the 1080p output setting (HDMI cables are capable of transferring data at a 1080p high resolution). The Xbox 360 is configured to properly use the HDMI cable and the HDMI cable is sending video information to the Samsung monitor.
