How to Upload a Picture to Your Gamer Picture on Xbox 360

Microsoft lets you extensively customize your Xbox 360 profile. For instance, the console includes avatar creation tools, a "Bio" section and an option to add a gamer picture. The Xbox Live comes with dozens of preset gamer pictures but many console owners find the options sub-par. If you own a Kinect or Xbox 360 Vision Camera, snap a photo to upload as your gamer picture, giving you a one-of-a-kind shot for your gamertag.

Instructions

      Turn off the console. Connect your Kinect or Xbox Live Vision Camera to your console. The devices plug into an open USB port.

      Turn on the console and wait for the dashboard to load. Go to the "My Xbox" section.

      Scroll right to the section containing your gamer profile. Press "A."

      Select "Profile" from the list of account management options.

      Open the "Edit Gamer Profile" option.

      Choose "Gamer Picture." A list of gamer picture customization options loads.

      Select the "Take Personal Picture" option. A picture-taking screen loads allowing you to preview the shot.

      Select the "Take Personal Picture" option. An image displays on the screen previewing the shot of your Kinect or Vision Camera.

      Select the button donning a camera icon to take the photo.

      Select the "Accept Picture" option to save the photo.

      Choose "Change Personal Picture" to use the photo as your gamer picture.
