How to Unlock Bungie's Armor in Halo 3

Bungie's Armor, more commonly referred to as "Recon Armor," is a mark of an elite Halo 3 player and can be equipped on a player's avatar in multi-player mode. For a long time, Recon Armor could only be given at the discretion of Bungie staff to those they personally deemed worthy. Now, however, the armor can be earned by accomplishing a brutally challenging series of achievements.

Instructions

Unlocking Recon Armor

  Familiarize yourself with the seven Vidmaster challenges needed to unlock Recon Armor.

  Collect each skull on the three Mythic maps in a custom game. The skulls will not be present in multi-player matches.

  Complete the campaign and solo on-line vidmaster challenges ("Lightswitch", "7 on 7" and "Classic".) These challenges can be done alone on your own time. "Classic" must be accomplished in Halo 3: ODST.

  Compile a team of three friends with Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST and Xbox live subscriptions and play through the three remaining four-player-only Vidmaster challenges. Successfully completing the challenges will unlock Recon Armor for your Halo 3 on-line account. However the armor must still be activated.

  Go to http://Bungie.net and set up a valid account by entering your personal information.

  Link your Bungie account to your on-line Halo 3 profile by adding your Halo 3 reference number into your Bungie account. You will then be able to follow the links to your personal on-line service record.

  Click the switch on your service record to activate the armor. The switch should be beneath your trophy picture next to the caption "Road to Recon." You now have fully activated Recon Armor and can equip it for on-line Halo 3 matches through your in-game armor customization menu.
