In 2005, Microsoft began the seventh generation of console gaming with the release of the Xbox 360. As with all home consoles, you must hook up the Xbox 360 to a television prior to starting and playing any of its video games. But if you have a PC monitor that has component ports, you can attach your Xbox 360 to it and play your games through the monitor instead of getting a separate television.
