How to Stream Videos to XBox 360s Using Ethernet Cables

The Xbox 360 comes ready to collaborate with your PC right out of the package. For instance, you can connect the two devices using one ethernet cable, allowing them to communicate and share data. Afterward, you can use your PC's Windows Media Player software, which comes with all versions of the operating system, to allow the computer to stream the program's videos to the Xbox 360. Once you enable sharing on the PC, your Xbox 360 can receive the video stream.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn on both the PC and Xbox 360. Make sure there is no disc in the Xbox 360's tray so that the console boots to the dashboard menu.

    • 2

Insert the ethernet cable into the Xbox 360's ethernet port located next to the audio/video ports. Plug the other end of the ethernet cable into your computer's ethernet plug-in. See the computer's manual for the location of its ethernet port if necessary.
