How to Take off Parental Control on an Xbox 360

Parents who own an Xbox 360 may wish to restrict a child's access to particular functions of the console. While logged in to their Xbox Live accounts, parents can set up parental controls that allow them to monitor and restrict a user's play time, access to the console's online functions, or explicit content. When a user no longer wishes to employ parental controls or wishes to change the control settings, they can be modified or disabled through the same console menus that were used to set them initially.

Instructions

    • 1

Log in to your Xbox Live account on your console.

    • 2

Navigate to the "My Xbox" menu tab and select "Family Center" (or "Family Settings," depending on your account type).

    • 3

Select "Console Safety" and click the "Off" button. Enter your 4-digit pass code (a code you selected when you first enabled the parental controls) when prompted.

    • 4

Select "Save and Exit" to save your new settings.
