How to Turn on an Xbox 360 Headset

The Xbox 360 is a gaming console manufactured by the Microsoft Corporation. Interactive accessories for the Xbox 360 include wired and wireless headsets that allow the user to communicate with other game players during Internet game play. Setting up your wired or wireless headset for your Xbox 360 game console will ensure proper functionality and performance. Using the headset may enrich the gaming experience and facilitate cooperative interaction within certain compatible Xbox Live game titles.

Instructions

  1. Wireless Headset

      Insert the supplied USB connection cable into the corresponding charging port, located on the side of the headset. Connect the other end of the USB cable to an available USB port on the game console. You may also connect the headset to the supplied AC adapter to charge the internal battery.

      Turn on the Xbox 360 and allow the headset to fully charge. Disconnect the headset from the USB or AC adapter when all four lights on the headset start blinking.

      Turn on the headset by pressing the oval-shaped center button located on the exterior body of the earpiece. Press the "+" or "-" buttons on the headset to control the earpiece volume.

    Wired Headset

      Turn on the game console.

      Insert the headset wire plug into the small round-shaped expansion slot, located on the bottom portion of the game controller.

      Flip the mute switch to the "Microphone" position, located between the headset and wiring plug. Rotate the thumb dial located next to the mute switch to adjust the headset volume.
