How to Play an Xbox 360 Through a TV Tuner

The Microsoft Xbox 360 is a next-generation video game system that produces high-definition audio and video information. Of course, not all TVs have a high-definition HDMI or component-video connection. If your TV only has the RF coaxial cable tuner connection, you need to convert the component video and audio connection to coaxial in order to hook up the Xbox 360 to the TV.

Things You'll Need

  • Component to RF coaxial adapter
  • Coaxial cable
  • Xbox 360 component audio/video connection

Instructions

    • 1

Plug the Xbox 360 connection port of the component audio/video cables to the backside of the Xbox 360. This port is marked "A/V."

    • 2

Insert the audio/video connection component video cables into the "Component In" ports on the adapter box, making sure the color of the cables matches the identical color of the connection ports on the adapter.

    • 3

Attach the coaxial cable into the "RF" port on the adapter. Insert the opposite end of the cable into the TV tuner's "In" port on the rear of the TV.

    • 4

Power on the Xbox 360 and the TV. Set the TV to station "3," and the video game content loads onto the screen.
