How to Use the XBox 360 Wireless Receiver on Your PC

Microsoft took ample time developing an ergonomic, easy to use wireless controller for the Xbox 360. If you also enjoy PC gaming, you can use any Xbox 360 wireless accessory, such as the controller or headset, to play any "Games for Windows" title. But do not expect the Xbox 360 wireless device to pair with your PC without any additional accessory. Microsoft sells the Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for this purpose. Install the receiver's device drivers to start connecting your console's wireless devices to your PC.

Instructions

    • 1

      Turn on your PC.

    • 2

Plug the receiver's USB connector into a USB port on your PC. The receiver turns on.

    • 3

Insert the receiver's installation disc, which came packaged with the receiver, into your PC disc drive. The installation wizard opens.

    • 4

Follow the installation wizard's prompts to install the drivers to your PC.

    • 5

      Restart your PC.

    • 6

Power on the Xbox 360 accessory, such as a wireless controller or wireless headset.

    • 7

Push the receiver's button. The receiver searches for wireless signals.

    • 8

Push the Xbox 360 accessory's wireless sync button. The device pairs to the receiver. See the device's manual if you are unsure where the sync button is located.
