How to Set Up Parental Controls on the XBox 360 for Netflix

The Xbox 360 offers instant Netflix movie streaming for subscribed members through Microsoft's Xbox Live service. Opening the Netflix application on the console allows you to view your queue or browse movies. For those with children, Microsoft includes parental controls, giving you the power to select a maximum viewable movie rating, such as PG or PG-13. Once configured, your console prompts you to enter a passcode every time you attempt to access a Netflix movie surpassing your selected rating level.

      Turn on the Xbox 360 and push the Guide button in the center of your controller. The Guide appears.

      Scroll right to the "Settings" tab.

      Choose "System Settings." The Guide closes and the "System Settings" menu opens.

      Choose "Family Settings" from the "System Settings" menu.

      Choose "Video Ratings." This option lets you customize Netflix restrictions based on video ratings.

      Select "Movie Ratings."

      Choose your desired highest movie rating for your account. For instance, selecting "PG" means those without access to your family settings passcode can only view movies rated PG or G.

      Choose "Set Pass Code."

      Enter your desired parental controls password for the Xbox 360. This code must be entered to bypass parental controls. Push "Start" to finish setting up Netflix parental controls for the console.
