Connect the power supply cable to the port labeled "Power" on the back of your Xbox 360 Elite.
Connect the other end to an available wall outlet.
Determine if your TV has a high definition video input. The Xbox 360 Elite has an HDMI cable for high definition inputs. Your TV will have a port labeled "HDMI" if it is high definition ready. If your television is not high definition ready, it will have RCA or Component ports which are red, yellow, and white.
Connect the AV cable to the port on the back of your Xbox 360 Elite.
Connect the other end of the cable to the available port on the back of your television. If you are using RCA or Component cables, remember to plug them into the same color ports.
Load batteries into your controller. Press the button located on the back of your controller to open the battery chamber. Place the two AA batteries in the battery chambers following the diagram showing which direction they are to be inserted.
Turn on your television.
Press and hold the large "X" button located on the front of the controller. This will turn on your Xbox 360 Elite.
Connect the ethernet cable to your high speed modem, then connect it to the slot labeled "Ethernet" on the back of your Xbox .
Restart your Xbox 360 Elite.
Select "My Xbox" then select "System Settings."
Select "Network Setting."
Select "Test Xbox LIVE Connection" then select "Yes" when you are prompted to update software. Your Xbox 360 Elite will now connect to the Internet and perform any firmware updates required.
