Know Your Spells
Knowing which spell to use in which situation is an important aspect to mastering the game. Certain spells affect some enemies are more than others. For example, the Patronous spell is specifically designed to keep Dementors at bay. You can use Expelliarmus to reflect an enemy's attack or stop Whomping Willows from obstructing your path. Magic potions cast an area effect, allowing you to attack groups of enemies at once. Stupefy is quick and easy to cast but does lower damage than the charged attack Impedimentia.
Find Your Way
The most useful spell at your disposal is the Four Point Spell, which wizards can use to find their way. When you cast the Four Point Spell, a blue arrow will appear in the sky directing you to your next goal. Whenever you enter a new area that is unfamiliar, cast the Four Point Spell to get your bearings. Using this spell can also give you a hint if you are lost by showing you the location of your next objective.
Best Offense is a Good Defense
Harry Potter's world can be dangerous with so many spells flying around. The best way to survive in the game is to have a strong defense. Whenever possible, take cover from enemy fire behind trees, rocks or a wall. When moving around the battlefield, use the strafe button to dodge enemy attacks when you can find no cover. Use your defensive spells, such as Expulso or Protego, whenever you are exposed without cover.
Unlock the Secrets
If you are having a hard time with the game, unlock a few cheat codes to even the playing field. On the main menu, go to options and select the unlock menu to enter the cheat code. Unlock the upgraded defensive spell Protego Totalum by entering Y, B, up, left, right trigger, right. Give yourself super strength potions by entering X, left, right, A, right trigger, right button. If you want more of an even greater challenge, enter Y, up, X, left trigger, right trigger, A to unlock the elite-level challenges.
