Career Tips
"UFC Undisputed 2010" offers an in-depth career mode that takes a fighter from his amateur career through the ranks to a UFC championship. When you first create your new fighter, you have a number of options that may seem very daunting at first. You must choose wisely because how you design your character will affect how he fights. Such factors as move set and attributes will go into effect at the character set-up stage.
Fighter Styles
Mixed martial arts encompasses a wide variety of fighting styles. "UFC Undisputed 2010" emulates many of the different styles that are used in real life. The style that you select will affect the way your new fighter moves and fights. For example, the wrestling stance has improved takedowns and clinch abilities, which mean you will have an easier time taking your opponent to the mat. If you want to create a fighter that has a striking advantage, use the MMA Stance or Upright Fighting Style. These abilities have higher initial rankings in such areas as head and body striking. Take each style's disadvantages into account.
Fighter Skills
Your created fighter has a number of different skills that you must develop. To begin you are given 200 points to use to build your fighter. Your goal should be to make your fighter well rounded to survive the first few fights. Raise the following categories to level 20 first: Standing Strikes Offense and Defense, Standing Kicks Offense, Clinch Strikes Offense and Defense, Clinch Grapple Offense and Defense and Takedown Defense. These skills are the most important in developing your fighter. Next, divide the remaining points across the last eight skill categories.
Fighter Attributes
Fighter attributes are divided into three categories: strength, speed and cardio. Strength and cardio are the most important, so push them to 20 points each. This will help you put a lot of power behind your strikes and have the endurance to do so for extended periods of time. Use the remaining points to add to the speed category. As you gain more attribute points continue to fill the categories in that same order: strength, cardio and then speed.
