How to Stop Decay in UFC 2010

"UFC Undisputed 2010" for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 uses a stat decay system to simulate the rust that can occur when an athlete doesn't utilize a specific skill for a while. Individual stats that haven't been increased through bouts and sparring over two in-game weeks will start to decay. Safe zones for each stat and attribute are set at 30, 50 and 70, meaning once an individual stat reaches these milestones it can't decay below that point. Staving off stat decay means regularly increasing each stat while between safe zones.

Instructions

    • 1

Begin a new fighter and distribute stats as wanted. The most wanted stats will naturally be the highest and either close to or over 30 while the remaining will be lower. Spend the first 10 to 12 weeks of the fighter's career splitting training between cardio, speed and strength.

    • 2

Begin using the character to spar. Each sparring session yields sparring points that can be put toward increasing stats.

    • 3

Increase each stat by one. This will stave off any decay for the next two weeks of the fighter's career.

    • 4

Spar again and contribute all stat gains to a single stat until it is over 30.

    • 5

Increase other individual stats up to 30 while dropping a single point into all others at least once during the two-week period before decay sets in.

    • 6

Continue regular sparring through the fighter's career to allow increases to each stat while focusing on getting the prioritized stats to the next safe zone. Repeat as needed for each stat.
