How to Get a Salamango in Viva Pinata

As you landscape, decorate and plant flowers in your "Viva Pinata" garden, you'll attract new species of pinata that will eventually take up residence. Some pinatas, however, won't appear on their own -- you have to evolve them from another type of pinata. Salamangoes evolve from newtgats, which must become residents in your garden before you can transform them. Once you've evolved two salamango pinatas and met their romance requirements, you can mate them to breed additional salamangoes.

     Dig around a body of water to expand it, increasing the amount of water in your garden to at least 3 percent.

     Plant a watercress in your garden to meet the visit requirements for a newtgat.

     Feed three watercress flowers to the newtgat to make it a resident of your garden.

     Buy a chili pepper from Costalot's Store. Feed the chili to a resident newtgat to evolve it into a salamango.
