How to Make Niko Run Faster

"Grand Theft Auto IV" is a free-roaming, multi-platform, third-person action game that stars Niko Bellic, an Easter European war veteran trying to make a new life in Liberty City. While the large size of the city and the abundance of vehicles make driving the preferred method of travel, the illegal activities that Niko becomes embroiled in require him to run a lot. With police or rivals frequently giving chase, it is critical to know how to make Niko run faster when it comes down to a footrace.

  Press the left analog stick in the direction you want to start moving. This works for both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Hold "W," "A," "S" or "D" on the computer version to move up, left, down or right while playing with a keyboard.

  Hold down the "A" button on the Xbox 360 gamepad or the "X" button on the PlayStation 3 gamepad to let Niko start running. Hold down the "Shift" button on your computer keyboard to put Niko in run mode.

  Tap the "A" button repeatedly on the Xbox 360 gamepad to make Niko run faster. Tap the "X" button on the PlayStation 3 gamepad or tap "Shift" repeatedly on the PC for him to sprint. Keep tapping the run button for as long as it takes to let Niko escape the people chasing him or until he has reached his destination.
