360 HDMI Installation

The Xbox 360 utilizes various output cables to send video and audio signals to your television. If you have an HDTV, then HDMI is your best option, offering the highest resolution paired with digital sound. The cable requires little installation, but there are two key prerequisites to look out for. For one, Microsoft did not include HDMI ports on all Xbox 360s. Also, not every HDTV comes with HDMI ports, so do your homework before installing the cable.

Ensure that your Xbox has an HDMI port by finding a plug-in labeled "HDMI" on the backside of the Xbox.

    • 2

Ensure that your TV has an HDMI port by viewing the device's input plug-ins, usually on the rear, looking for a port labeled "HDMI."

    • 3

Turn off the Xbox. It does not matter whether the HDTV is on or off.
