Navigate to the Media Fire website (see Resources) and click "Download" to download an archive containing the software tools needed to perform the modification to the "Guitar Hero 3" ISO file. Extract the files and install the ABGX360, IMG Burn, Queen Bee and WX360 programs by double-clicking on the setup files and clicking "Next" when prompted. Choose a directory to install the programs to.
Open WX360 by double-clicking on it. Go to "File" and "Open" and choose your "Guitar Hero 3" ISO file.
Click on the "+" sign on the sub directory "DATA" in the GH3_R$ ISO file. Expand the "COMPRESSED" directory by clicking on the "+" sign next to it and
click on the "PAK" folder. Scroll down until you find "dbug.pak.xen" and right-click on it. Click on "Extract File" to extract the file to a directory on your computer.
Scroll down to "qb.pab.xen" while still in the "COMPRESSED" directory and right-click on the file and choose "Extract File." Choose a directory on your computer to extract the file to. Afterward, click on the "qb.pak.xen" file and extract it also.
Open the Queen Bee program by double-clicking on the program icon. Choose the "XEN-XBOX" from the "Format" drop-down menu in the upper right-hand corner of the program. Click on the browse button next to "PAK File" and load your PAK file by clicking on the specific directory that contains the file and clicking on "Open." Load the "Load the Debug and PAB file" by clicking on the corresponding browse button and clicking on the specific directory that contains the files. Click "Load" once you have selected all the files. Once the files have been loaded in the left screen, there will be new tabs at the top of the page to choose from.
Click on the "QB Item Search" tab and click in the "QB Key Search" box and. Type in "Bot" and click the "Search" button. Files will be loaded on the right side of the screen.
Look for "bot_play" with debugger in the file name. Double-click on the first "bot_play" under the debugger bot_play file and you will be taken to a new menu with files loaded on the left side of the program.
Look at the top of the page for "Controller" under "Debug Name" and click on it. Options will be presented on the right side of the screen.
Click in the "Number" box to change the number setting. Type in "1" and click on the "Update" button.
Look at the top of the page for the different "star powers" and click on them to change their number value to "1" also.
Change bot_play, bot_pattern, bot_strum and bot_star power and change them to "1." Change the different "bot_play, bot_pattern, and bot_star power to "1." Change the controller set to "1" and click "Save To Disk" to save the files you just changed.
Open WX360 on your desktop and find the files you extracted earlier and click on them. Select "Replace File" from the sub menu and find the files you modified and click on them to open them. Do not use a decompressed file or you will corrupt your ISO file.
Open ABGX 360 and open the modified ISO file by clicking on the folder icon and selecting the modified ISO from the directory you saved it.
Click on the "Options" tab and verify that "Check/Create .dvd file," "Check Stealth," "Verify if Stealth passes," "Check/Fix Video padding," "Use Colors," "Check for AnyDVD style game data corruption," "Check for updates" and "Check Game Partition CRC when needed" are all checked. Set the "Verbosity" level to "Medium."
Click on the "AutoFix" tab and verify the settings are kept at what they are default. Click on the "Region" tab and select the region that you live in by clicking on the corresponding region code. Click "OK" and "Launch." The ABGX 360 program will patch the Guitar Hero 3 ISO file and will display a list of messages along with an error about the game partition CRC not matching. This is fine and means the game was patched. As long as it says that "Stealth was verified and the game wasn't," the file has been successfully patched.
Insert the dual DVD layer disc into your computer DVD drive.
Open the IMG Burn program by double-clicking on it. Click on "Write Image File to Disc" and browse for the Guitar Hero 3 ISO file and click on it to open. Choose the "2.4x" speed and click "Write" to burn the Guitar Hero 3 disc with the automatic bot.
