My XBox 360 Goes Three Red Lights When I Put a Game or DVD In

The Xbox 360 gaming console uses the red light circle on its front as an indicator of errors and hardware trouble. If three lights are blinking, the system is experiencing power difficulties, which could be interfering with its ability to read discs. The power supply cables will provide more information for a system having power difficulties. The light on your power supply indicates power difficulties and what could be the source of the problem.

Instructions

Check the light on the front of the battery on your power supply cable. If the light is green, the power supply is fine and your system is having internal power difficulties. Consult the Xbox support network by calling the number in your instruction manual or request a repair on the Xbox support website.

Turn off your console and unplug the battery if the light is red, orange or unlit. Check that all the cable connections are secure. If the light is red, wait for your power supply to cool down before trying again. Plug everything back in and turn the system on.

Try a different plug outlet or room if your system is still experiencing difficulties. Replace the power supply cables if your battery light is still a different color than green.
