Things You'll Need
Instructions
Remove all power cables and accessories from the Xbox console. Remove the front faceplate from the system (it is removable and designed to be snapped on or off). Unclasp the plastic tabs on the outer case and remove it from the console. Unscrew the Torx screws on the metal interior case then slide it open. Unplug the SATA cable from the DVD drive to the Xbox motherboard, then connect your SATA cable from the computer to the Xbox motherboard.
Turn on the computer and download an Xbox modification program from the list in the References section. Run the program and select your console from the main menu's drop-down bar. Click "Advanced Modifications" in the program's main menu and click "Add/Remove DPDT Switch." Click "OK," and the program will add the DPDT functionality to the console's software. This step can be repeated to deactivate the DPDT code, which runs custom programs and backup copies of game discs on the console.
Wait for the DPDT coding process to complete. Close the program and shut down the computer. Unplug the SATA cable from the computer to the Xbox motherboard, then reconnect the SATA cable from the DVD drive to the Xbox motherboard. Close the metal case and replace the Torx screws. Return the plastic outer case to its original position then replace the front faceplate. Reconnect any power cables and accessories.
