How to Do a Party Chat & Still Talk With Others in Gears of War 2 on the Xbox 360

Party chat was introduced in 2009 to the Xbox 360 gaming console. With party chat, you and seven friends can communicate via headset simultaneously. One benefit of party chat is that the chat will stay together even if all members play separate games. For instance, if you were to play "Gears of War 2," you would still be able to talk to others in your party even if they were not playing the same game.

Instructions

  Press the silver guide button in the center of your Xbox 360 controller.

  Select "Party" and press "A" on your controller. Select "Start a Party" and press "A" again.

  Select "Invite Players to the Party" and press "A."

  Select "Send Invite" on each Gamertag you wish to invite to your party.

  Insert the "Gears of War 2" disc in your Xbox 360. Start "Gears of War 2" via the main menu.

  Use your headset as you normally would to talk to your friends while you play "Gears of War 2." You will stay in the party for the duration of the game and any other games you may play.
