DCHP-Enabled Router
Boot your Xbox, and wait for the main window to load.
Scroll down the list to "Settings," and click on it.
Write down the IP address that is listed on the right side under "System Info."
Go to your Mac, click "Go" on the menu bar, and select "Connect to Server." You can also type Command K to open a new server connection.
Type ftp:// followed by the Xbox's IP address, and click "Connect."
Copy the files to or from the Xbox as needed.
Crossover Cable
Connect one end of the crossover cable to each machine's Ethernet port.
Click the Apple menu, and select "System Preferences."
Click "Built-In Ethernet," and choose the "TCP/IP" tab.
From the "Configure IPv4" drop down, change "Using DCHP" to "Manually."
Type in an IP address (192.168.1.100, for example) and 255.255.255.0 for the Subnet Mask. Leave the Router and DNS Servers information blank.
In the Xbox's network settings, change the "Assignment" to "Manual (Static)."
Assign a different IP address (192.168.1.101, for example). Click the "E" key next to the displayed number pad to enter your settings.
Type the same address for the "Netmask" that you used for the "Subnet Mask" on your Macintosh.
Type your computer's IP address for the "Default Gateway" and "DNS Server."
Reboot your Xbox to make sure it loads with the new static IP address.
Make a network connection from your Macintosh, and transfer files as needed.
