How to Turn Off Xbox 360 Notifications While Playing a Game on Xbox Live

If you are playing a game on your Xbox 360 while logged into your Xbox Live account, you may find it slightly distracting when you receive notifications of other friends logging in. You can turn off these notifications while you are playing a game so you are not constantly bombarded with sign-in notifications. Simply change your preferences settings to temporarily disable all Xbox Live log-in notifications.

Instructions

    • 1

Log in to your Xbox Live account.

    • 2

Press the "Guide" button on your Xbox 360 controller. This is the main, middle button on your controller that lights up during game play. Press it to bring up the Guide menu.

    • 3

Scroll to the right over to the "Settings" menu. Select "Preferences," then "Online Status."

    • 4

Select "Busy" from the Online Status settings menu. This will show others logged in to Xbox Live that you are "Busy." It acts like a "Do Not Disturb" setting for your Xbox Live account.
