My XBox Won't Turn on the USB for Guitar Hero

"Guitar Hero" for the Xbox 360 puts you in the pants of a rock star by allowing you to jam out on a USB-connected guitar. The guitar acts as the controller for the game, and you cannot play "Guitar Hero" without it. Since the guitar connects via one of the Xbox 360's USB slots, you'll need to have both a working guitar and working and free USB slot.

Instructions

  Turn on the Xbox 360. Disconnect the "Guitar Hero" guitar. Remove the "Guitar Hero" game from the disc drive and turn off the Xbox 360.

  Disconnect the power cord from the Xbox 360 and from the power supply. Disconnect the power supply from the outlet. Remove any accessories from the Xbox 360, such as the wireless adapter and any other USB-connected devices.

  Connect the power supply back into an outlet. Connect the power cord back into the power supply and into the back of the Xbox 360.

  Turn on the Xbox 360. Insert the "Guitar Hero" game. Connect the "Guitar Hero" guitar and start the game.

  Connect the "Guitar Hero" guitar into another USB slot. If restarting the system and disconnecting the accessories did not work, your USB slot may be faulty. Connect the guitar into the other front USB slot or the back USB slot. If neither works, then connect another USB accessory into the USB slots to test them. If that accessory works, then the guitar is likely broken and will have to be repaired or replaced. If that test accessory did not work, then your Xbox 360 USBs are faulty.
