How to Check My Xbox 360 Elite Jasper

Since the console's debut, Microsoft has released several versions of the Xbox 360. These revisions offer minor updates that address common problems associated with the console. Xbox 360 Elite units are available in two versions. The Jasper revision addressed the Red Ring of Death (RROD) issue that has plagued the console since its 2005 release. You can check if your Xbox 360 Elite version is the Jasper model by looking at the amperage information.

Check via Bar Code

  Turn the Xbox 360 around so the rear is facing you.

  Locate the white bar code sticker.

  Find the "Made in China" text. The amperage information is located just above this. If you see "12.1 A" you have a Jasper unit. If you see "14.2 A" you have the Falcon model.
Check via Power Adapter

  Locate the Xbox 360 power adapter.

  Turn the adapter over to see the power-rating information. This is located on the white sticker on the bottom of the adapter.

  Look at the "Output" information. If the number next to the "AMPS" is "12.1 A" you have a Jasper model. If the number next to "AMPS" is "14.2 A" you have a Falcon unit.
