I Can't Play My Xbox 360 Arcade Games Offline on My New Xbox 360

In an effort to reduce software piracy, all arcade game purchases made through the Xbox 360 marketplace are assigned a usage license. This license allows the purchased game to work only on the console used to purchase the software. If you have purchased a new Xbox 360, you will only be able to play your Xbox 360 arcade games while online until you transfer your software licenses. Use the license transfer tool to transfer the content licenses to your new Xbox 360 console. This enables you to use the purchased content on the new console while offline.

     Visit the Xbox 360 license transfer website (see Resources).

     Log in to your Xbox Live account, and click the "Next" button at the bottom of the page.

     Turn on your New Xbox 360 and sign in to the Xbox Live account.

     Click the "Next" button on the license transfer page. This page lists all of the Xbox 360 licenses you can transfer.

     Follow the on-screen instructions to download the licenses to your new Xbox 360.
