How to Hook Up an Xbox Live Wireless Network

Xbox LIVE allows you to connect your Xbox 360 console to the Internet in order to play your favorite games with others across the globe. If your console is too far from your router or modem then you only have one connection option: wireless. Use the Xbox 360's built-in wireless card to get online with your friends.

  Turn on the console and open the "Dashboard" menu.

  Scroll to "My Xbox." Press "RB" twice to highlight "System Settings." Open it.

  Open "Network Settings" and choose "Configure Network." A new configuration menu appears.

  Open the "Basic Settings" tab by scrolling right or left.

  Choose "Wireless Mode." A list of wireless options appears; choose "Scan for networks." The Xbox finds wireless networks and shows a list after a few seconds. Choose the network you want to connect to from the list.

  Enter the security password for the router and press "Start."

  Press "B" until the "Network Settings" menu reappears. Choose "Test Xbox LIVE connection." The Xbox will connect wirelessly to the Internet.
