How to Make NBA 2K7 More Realistic

The video game "NBA 2K7" features the rosters of teams from the 2006-2007 NBA season. Like most sports games, it tends to be a little bit unrealistic as any good player can easily shoot well over 60 percent from the field and score well over 100 points. A more realistic game experience is possible with some changes in the "Game Options" menu.

Instructions

    • 1

Flick the right joystick on a Xbox 360 or Playstation 3 to bring up the main menu. Scroll down to the "Game Options" selection and press "Start" to bring up a list of game play options and sliders.

    • 2

Scroll with the left thumbstick to "Fatigue" and "Injuries." Press right or left to turn them on or off. Fatigue will force players to get tired after prolonged stretches of play while injuries will simulate potential real-life injuries.

    • 3

Turn on the "Biorhythm" option. This will put momentum into the game, meaning a player will perform better when he hits a few baskets in a row, and worse when he goes cold.

    • 4

Set the quarters to 12 minutes, the actual time of NBA quarters.

    • 5

Scroll down to the "Shooting" game sliders and set all of the sliders to around 45 to 55 percent.

    • 6

Scroll down to the "Tendencies" sliders. Set them all to 90 for the computer team. While these won't affect your team, it will force the computer team to play more realistically.

    • 7

Scroll to the "Attributes" gameplay sliders and set all of the defensive attributes to around 85 percent. The virtual players will actually play defense and won't leave you wide open every single time.

    • 8

Press either "B" or "Circle" to return to the main menu and select "Coaching" followed by "Coach Settings." Set the "Substitutions" to auto and the "Timeouts" to auto. Throughout the course of a game, the computer will make the necessary substitutions and timeouts for you.
