Things You'll Need
Instructions
Solder the two 5-inch wires to the bottom panel of your push-button switch, using the soldering iron.
Turn off your XBox controller. Unplug the controller from the console if you are not using a wireless controller.
Flip the controller over. Remove the battery pack from the middle of the controller (if wireless). You will see seven screws holding the back casing in place. Remove these screws with the screwdriver and carefully lift off the casing.
Remove the green motherboard from the controller. Lay it down on your workspace so that the circuits are facing up. Solder one wire to the lower right metal pin on the board. Solder the second wire to the pin located in the center of the top of the board. You may need to trim these wires to properly fit inside your controller.
Measure the diameter of your switch. You will need to make a hole in the back casing big enough for your switch to fit through. Draw guidelines on the casing for your hole. Drill a hole through the casing using the electric drill. If your drill bit is smaller than the switch itself, you may need to drill through several times in order to widen the hole.
Replace the motherboard. Guide the switch through the hole on the back casing. Replace the back casing, the screws and the battery pack.
