Instructions
Clear objects away from the infrared port on the remote and Xbox 360 console. Objects that are between the infrared ports on each device, or within the pathway, can create interference. Metallic faceplates on the console can also interfere with the signal from the remote.
Slide the battery cover off the remote and take out the old batteries. Press every button on the Xbox 360 remote twice. Then put in fresh batteries.
Hold the Xbox 360 Universal Remote no more than 10 feet from the infrared sensor console.
Close curtains and blinds during the daylight hours, to decrease interference from ambient infrared light.
Program the remote to work with the TV. Turn on the TV and point the Xbox 360 Universal Remote toward the TV. Hold down the "TV" and the "OK" buttons simultaneously on the Xbox 360 remote for two seconds. The TV buttons, 1 through 12, will be lit. Press and hold either the "CH+" or "CH-" button until the TV turns off. When the TV turns off, press the "TV" button on the Xbox 360 remote to save the code.
