How to Activate a Purifier

In the last scenes of Fallout 3, a game available on the PC and XBOX 360, you can take actions to activate a purifier (the "Water Purifier") or let it explode. In the game, you are required to activate the Water Purifier to prevent death by radiation, or you can let it explode to sacrifice yourself for the greater good of humankind. If you do not enter the correct code to activate the purifier, or you take too long to activate the purifier, you will be taken to "ending 11," where the Water Purifier explodes.

Instructions

  Step into the Control Chamber at the end of the game. The narration "But it was not until the end of this long road that the Lone Wanderer learned the true meaning of that greatest of virtues..." plays as you step into the chamber.

  Recall the verse in the Bible that your father told you was your mother's favorite passage--Revelation 21:6.
- 3
  Enter the code "216" in reference to your mother's favorite passage, as found in your pipboy. The purifier is activated if the code is entered quickly, and you will be shown the end scenes in the game.
