How to View Pictures From My Computer From My Xbox 360

The Xbox 360 is a high-definition gaming console that also acts as a media extender for a home network. This allows you to stream video, audio and pictures from a computer directly to the Xbox 360. Streaming media to the Xbox 360 gives you the ability to quickly access files on a computer and view them on a large screen television without even getting off your couch. You can gather around the television with your family and friends and view a slideshow of your favorite images streamed from your computer.

  Connect your Xbox 360 to your computer. Use a network cable to connect the two devices directly or connect them both to your network's router. Having a modem and Internet access is not required to stream media.

  Open Windows Media Player 12, then click the "Stream" menu near the top of the application, then "Turn On Media Streaming."

  Click "Turn On Media Streaming" in the new window, then click "OK."

  Turn on your Xbox 360 and browse to the "My Xbox" menu.

  Select "Picture Library," then select your computer from the displayed list of locations.

  Select a picture to view with your Xbox 360.
