How to Transfer an Xbox 360 File From My Hard Drive to a Memory Card

All of your Xbox 360's data does not have to stay locked inside your console. Microsoft engineered the Xbox 360 to allow gamers to move data using multiple types of storage devices, such as hard drives and memory cards. If you want to take your profile, game saves or other type of data with you to a friend's house, you can transfer that content to one of your portable memory devices.

     Turn off the Xbox 360 and connect the memory card to the console.

     Turn on the console.

     Open the "System Settings" menu from the Xbox 360's dashboard.

     Choose "Memory."

     Select "Hard Drive" when prompted to select your storage device.

     Locate and select the hard drive's file that you wish to move to your memory card.

     Choose "Move."

     Select "Memory Unit" when prompted to choose a device.
