How to Make a VGA Cable for an Xbox 360

If you want to connect your Microsoft Xbox 360 to a VGA computer monitor, you have two real options. The first is to buy the official Microsoft VGA cable for the console, or a third-party equivalent. The second is to make your own, using your Xbox 360's included video cables and a VGA adapter. When used together, the regular video cables and the adapter will connect your console to your monitor the same way it would if you were using an actual cable.

  Connect the included composite video cables to the back of your Xbox 360 the same way you would if you were hooking up the console to a regular TV. One side of the included cable is a regular composite video plug, while the other is a proprietary plug that only fits into the back of your Xbox 360.

  Insert the white composite video plug into the composite video input on your composite-to-VGA adapter.

  Connect the other end of your adapter to the VGA input on your VGA monitor. Your Xbox 360 is now connected to your VGA monitor.
