Instructions
Connect your Xbox to your PC. Use an RJ45 Ethernet patch cable to connect your Xbox to your router or a crossover cable to connect the Xbox directly to your PC.
Turn on the PC and Xbox. Make sure your Xbox doesn't have a disc inserted; this will ensure that it will launch the built-in Dashboard.
Click on "Network Settings" and select "Configure Network."
Click the "Edit Settings" and select the "Basic Settings."
Click on "IP Settings" to configure the IP address handling. Click "Automatic" if your router will be assigning an IP address. If you need to set the IP address to a static address, click on the "IP Settings" and type in the static IP address the Xbox will be using.
Find your network or computer on the list of available options. Enter a password if prompted and click "Done."
Test the connection. If you are plugged directly into a computer, use the "Test PC Connection" from the Network Settings window. If you are connected via your router, use "Test Xbox Live Connection" to run the test.
Open a Web browser on your computer and type "ftp://" followed by the IP address your Xbox is using. If the address is assigned automatically, you can find the current IP address in the IP settings dialogue box.
Find the files you want to copy from your Xbox and right-click on them. Click "Save As" to begin saving them to your computer.
