How to Find a Fan Stand for an Xbox 360

The Xbox 360 game console functions like a mini computer. And like a computer, it needs a strong fan to keep the internal components cool. The fan on the typical Xbox 360 is constantly working, but if you prop the console on a fan stand, it can ease some of the pressure on the unit. These fan stands are available from many online resources.

  Open your Internet browser and navigate to an online electronics store such as www.bestbuy.com or an online consumer goods store such as www.amazon.com

  Click on the "Video Games" section in the main menu of the website and you will be directed to a new page with listings for video games and accessories.

  Search in the "Accessories" section of the "Video Games" page and you will be directed to a listing of accessories for video games.

  Use the search box on screen to search for "Xbox 360 fan stand." A number of listings should come up and you can purchase one through the site. You will more than likely be able to find fan stands at your local video game retailer, such as Gamestop or other stores. Make sure it is for an Xbox 360 and not a standard Xbox. The dimensions of this stand will be 10.15 inches by 3.27 inches. These match the dimensions of the 360.

  Place the Xbox stand on a sturdy surface near your television and fit the Xbox on the stand. To do this, stand the Xbox on its side and place it on the stand so that the circular power button is closest to the base of the unit. You can use the holder connected to the left side of the stand to hold your Xbox 360 remote control.

  Plug the fan stand into an available outlet and press the "On" button on the front of the fan stand to turn the unit on.
