How to Play an Xbox 1 Backup From a 360 Hard Drive

When the Xbox 360 was released, it had limited backwards compatibility with original Xbox games. The Xbox 360 could read and playback a number of the Xbox's first edition games. Microsoft offers original Xbox games via the Xbox Marketplace. The games can be downloaded directly to the 360's hard drive, playable without the need for a disc.

Instructions

  Power on the Xbox. Select your Xbox Live profile to log in.

  Navigate to the Xbox "Game Marketplace." Browse games under the "Xbox Originals" category. These games are downloaded and backed up to your Xbox 360's hard drive.

  Select "Buy" to purchase and download the game using your Microsoft Points. Enter the necessary information to continue (you may have to enter your credit card information to obtain Microsoft Points). The game will download to your hard drive.

  Navigate to "My Xbox" and select "Game Library." Your original Xbox game will be listed there. Select it to begin playing.
