When running a Windows-based computer on your network, you can use Windows Media Center through your Xbox 360 to stream pictures, videos and music. To get up and running with your Xbox 360 and your PC connection, you will need to follow a few steps to ensure that you don't have any problems running the connection.

      Ensure both your Xbox 30 game console and computer are on and connected to your computer network. If either has trouble connecting, try the normal steps of power-cycling your modem, router and all devices linked to the wireless network. This will clear any conflicts among the devices trying to connect.

      Get the setup key from your Xbox 360. On the Xbox 30 dashboard, go to "My Xbox" and select "Windows Media Center."

      Follow the instructions, which will then provide you with an 8-digit "Media Center Setup Key."

      Set up your Xbox 360 console as an extender through your PC. Start up Windows Media Center on your PC, click "Tasks" and then select "Add Extender."

      Enter the 8-digit setup key that you received from the Xbox 360 on the computer when prompted.

      Follow the instructions to complete the extender setup on your PC.

      Access Windows Media Center from your Xbox 360 by going to the dashboard, selecting "My Xbox," and then selecting "Windows Media Center."
